Rochester, NY, Jul 22, 2008 (M2 PRESSWIRE via COMTEX) -- EK | Quote | Chart | News | PowerRating -- Seven years ago, founding partners Jon Webel and Paul Rogers launched Mailings Unlimited in Portland, Maine, with the goal of delivering a full suite of truly digital direct mail services to a national client base.

They wanted to be a one stop shop for their clients' printing and mailing needs, and knew that investment in the right equipment would be critical to their success. Offering everything from list rental and internal data management to digital printing and integrated lead tracking, Mailings Unlimited has taken its services to the next level with the addition of a KODAK NEXPRESS 2500 Digital Production Color Press.

The NEXPRESS 2500 Press supports a wide range of substrates and has enabled Mailings Unlimited to dramatically reduce its postcard, direct mail, and brochure turnaround time while enhancing overall print quality. The new press joins existing high speed monochrome print devices and represents the first time the company is able to offer fully variable color products in high volume at production speeds.

"What used to take all day to print, we can now wrap up in about an hour," said Webel. "The NEXPRESS 2500 Press with KODAK NEXPRESS V Front End gives us the horsepower we need to run complex jobs with remarkable speed, and we have been very pleased with the performance so far."

Mailings Unlimited handles a wide range of projects and has worked hard to educate its customers on the value of variable data printing in direct mail. The company sells its services directly to retailers, brand owners and other marketers, but also aligns with ad agencies and marketing services firms to offer its services to their customers.

"Our focus for the business is on mail applications, and we currently deliver variable data on approximately 80 percent of our jobs," noted Webel. "Helping print buyers understand that an extra investment in targeted mailings really pays off is a challenge, but once they see the results, they are hooked."

Although they admit they certainly would never turn down more traditional short run, static print work, the partners' attention is clearly focused on personalization and the exciting opportunities it provides. The ability to experiment with the design and target a mail piece to the recipient's preferences gives the marketer a significant advantage, and producing a high quality color mailer on the NEXPRESS 2500 Press enables Mailings Unlimited to set itself apart from its competitors.

With just over 25 employees, Mailings Unlimited is expecting to break the $10 million revenue mark in 2008. In fact, the company was named in Entrepreneur Magazine's Hot 500 Fastest Growing Businesses in America and hopes to repeat the accomplishment again this year. Webel expects growth in many areas, such as education, tourism, nonprofit and others, and figures they may need additional capacity in the next year or so.
