MINNEAPOLIS, Jul 22, 2008 (BUSINESS WIRE) -- FALC | Quote | Chart | News | PowerRating -- NetEx(R), the leader in high speed data transport, today announced that its HyperIP(R) bandwidth optimization appliance has been certified by FalconStor(R) Software, Inc. (NASDAQ: FALC), providing FalconStor users with a tested and proven application acceleration solution.

The certification follows joint performance testing by the NetEx and FalconStor to prove interoperability and validate the value proposition of HyperIP in accelerating data rate performance across TCP/IP transports for FalconStor data protection applications, including DiskSafe, FileSafe, VTL and others.

"IPstor and other FalconStor applications are an ideal test bed for HyperIP as it demonstrates the real world challenges and bottlenecks of sending large volumes of data over IP transports," said Robert MacIntyre, Vice President of Business Development and Marketing at NetEx. "These test results vividly demonstrate the ability of HyperIP to add significant value to FalconStor applications."

"Our applications suite working in conjunction with the NetEx HyperIP data transport appliance clearly positions FalconStor for mid to high end business continuity and disaster recovery requirements with performance second to none," said Bernie Wu, Vice President of Business Development at FalconStor. "We are also looking forward to working with NetEx as they release their VMware version of HyperIP in the near future," stated Wu.

HyperIP is NetEx's award-winning business continuity and disaster recovery optimization solution for backup, recovery and data replication applications. It provides unmatched performance for moving TCP data efficiently using patent-pending technology that accelerates and optimizes the industry-leading data replication and file transfer applications by aggregating multiple data replication applications over a shared connection while mitigating the inherent network latency and network disruption for long-distance remote TCP/IP data transmissions. HyperIP data transport optimization appliances support long-distance data transfers at up to 800 Mb/s. Transfer speed is optimized for the full range of data management applications, including backup & remote replication and business continuance/disaster recovery (BC/DR).

The scalable design of HyperIP allows customers to buy into the platform starting at 1.5 Mb/s and then add performance as needed up to 800 Mb/s all in the same appliance with no hardware upgrades required. Customers can purchase the performance that they need instead of being forced to purchase a specific hardware model with vendor-imposed performance limits as offered by typical WAN optimizers. Unlike their competitors, HyperIP software features are not priced separately. Every HyperIP appliance is a complete turnkey solution with advanced features, including TCP application acceleration to mitigate latency, packet loss shield to protect against variable circuit quality conditions that can disrupt and degrade application performance, block compression for up to a 15x performance boost, and application aggregation.
