She will continue to report to Marc Lawrence-Apfelbaum, Executive VP and General Counsel. Laine will be responsible for legal and regulatory matters relating to Time Warner Cable's video, voice and data services. In this role, Julie will also work closely with Time Warner Cable's Washington, D.C. public policy office.
"Julie is extremely adept at navigating numerous complicated regulatory issues in some rather unsettled areas of law," Lawrence-Apfelbaum said. "She provides skilled and practical counsel to Time Warner Cable operations nationwide, and I am confident she will become an even more valuable resource for the company as she assumes additional leadership responsibility."
Laine was most recently VP & Chief Counsel, Telephony. She joined Time Warner Cable in 2002 from IP telephony company Net2Phone, where she was Associate General Counsel. She previously served as an Attorney Advisor in the Policy Division of the Federal Communications Commission's Common Carrier Bureau, where she worked on issues relating to local telephone competition, broadband deployment and telecommunications mergers.
