Office Depot reports armed robbery

One employee was pistol-whipped and suffered minor head injuries when robbers held up employees at an Office Depot on Tuesday, West Melbourne police reported. Police responded to the store in the 1100 block of West New Haven Avenue after they received a call at 6:35 a.m. of an armed robbery in progress. An employee called police and told them that two armed men, one with a handgun and another with a knife, were in the store. Three employees hid in the manager's office while police surrounded the building thinking the robbers could still be inside, a police spokesman said.
