Verizon Wireless Extends Broadband Network in Pennsylvania

BALTIMORE, Jul 24, 2008 (ASCRIBE NEWS via COMTEX) -- VZ | Quote | Chart | News | PowerRating -- Verizon Wireless reported that it has expanded the national rollout of its high-speed wireless network to portions of Mifflin County including the towns of Lewistown, Burnham, McVeytown, Milroy and Reedsville. Additional coverage includes portions of U.S. Routes 322 and 522.

"Our high-speed wireless network gives our customers three key advantages in wireless communication -- speed, mobility and security," said Roger Tang, president -- Ohio/Pennsylvania/West Virginia region, Verizon Wireless. "With these advantages, business customers and mobile professionals can increase productivity and see bottom-line business benefits. In addition, our V CAST services, such as V CAST Music with Rhapsody, help keep customers entertained while on-the-go -- on the same devices they carry with them every day."

The company said the network expansion is part of a multi-billion dollar network investment each year to stay ahead of the demand for Verizon Wireless' voice and data services.
