SI International Gets $11 Million Air Force Space Command SSA and C2 Modernization Contract

BALTIMORE, Jul 24, 2008 (ASCRIBE NEWS via COMTEX) -- SINT | Quote | Chart | News | PowerRating -- SI International, an information technology and network solutions (IT) company, announced that it has been awarded a contract to support the Headquarters Air Force Space Command Directorate of Requirements, Space Situational Awareness (SSA) and Command and Control (C2) Systems Division.

The contract was awarded under the Contract Advisory and Assistance Services and Engineering and Technical Assistance (CAASETA) contract vehicle, and has a one-year base period with a one-year option period. The task order's value is approximately $11 million over two years, if all options are exercised, the company said.

SI International will provide life-cycle planning, management, and engineering and technical assistance to Headquarters Air Force Space Command (AFSPC) for defining, developing, fielding, testing and sustaining their next generation Space Situational Awareness (SSA) and Command and Control (C2) capabilities, to include space, air, and missile elements. The Company will provide its DoD Architecture Framework-compliant (DoDAF-compliant) enterprise architectures which utilizes state-of-the-art object-oriented/unified modeling language technology.

SI International said its work under this contract will be performed at Headquarters AFSPC, Peterson AFB, CO and at SI International's Colorado Springs, CO campus. Since 1996, SI International has served as a technical support contractor for the military space community, which includes Air Force Space Command (AFSPC), and North American Aerospace Defense Command (NORAD). In addition to SSA and C2 modernization support, SI International provides life-cycle Systems Engineering and Technical Assistance (SETA) support for AFSPC Space-Based Sensors Systems, Global Positioning Satellite Systems, Satellite Communications, and Missile Defense programs.
