The new pizza plant, located at 401 West North Avenue, will reportedly add 100,000 square feet and a new parking lot as part of the expansion.
The company said that a new pizza crust bakery line and assembly line will be installed at the expanded plant, enabling a significant increase in production capacity.
Construction of the new plant is expected to begin immediately and is scheduled to be completed by the end of this year. Equipment installation and production start-up of the new lines is scheduled for April 2009.
Kraft said that with the expansion employment at the plant is anticipated to increase by approximately 300 with the expansion.
In addition, Kraft Pizza Company's DiGiorno piazza will be the official pizza of Green Bay Packers for the next three seasons. This will include exclusive rights to concession pizza sales at Lambeau Field and other promotions accompanying the sponsorship.
