The basketball players who transferred from Rose Hill Christian to Scott County in the spring were ruled ineligible for the upcoming school year by the Kentucky High School Athletic Association last month.
Euton and Jackson presented an appeal earlier this month. Their families received a letter Thursday from the hearing officer, who says he will recommend the pair be ruled eligible for 2008-09, according to WKYT.
The KHSAA Board of Control gets the final decision. They will review the official's findings and make a ruling during their meeting on Aug. 25.
Euton, who verbally committed to the University of Kentucky in the spring of 2007, averaged 20 points and 10 rebounds this past season at Rose Hill.
Jackson, who stole the show in the opening round of the 16th Region Tournament with a triple-double, is also considered one of the top prospects in his class.
The Royals advanced to the semifinals of both the Touchstone Energy All "A'' Classic and 16th Region Tournament.
