Atheros Communications appoints new board member

Jul 29, 2008 (Datamonitor via COMTEX) -- CNXTD | Quote | Chart | News | PowerRating -- Atheros Communications, a developer of semiconductor system solutions for wireless and wired communications has appointed Dan Artusi to its board of directors.

Mr Artusi, who has more than 30 years of experience in the semiconductor and communications industries, most recently served as president, CEO and board member of Conexant Systems, a communications solutions semiconductor company.

Previously, Mr Artusi was chairman and CEO of Coldwatt, a provider of power supplies for the communications and computing industries. He has also served as president, CEO and director of Silicon Laboratories, a developer of mixed signal integrated circuits and spent more than 20 years in various senior management roles at Motorola Semiconductor. He currently serves as a board member of Qspeed Semiconductor.

Craig Barratt, president and CEO of Atheros, said: "His vast experience in the communications semiconductor industry will again significantly contribute to the Atheros team. He has excellent insight into the markets we serve, and a unique understanding of our vision for the future."
