This is in addition to the Standard Edition of the book.
Amazon said that the collector's edition, which is inspired by J.K. Rowling's handwritten, illustrated book originally purchased at auction, will features exclusive content, including illustrations not found in either the standard edition or the original. Both the standard and collector's editions include an introduction and illustrations by J.K. Rowling, and all five fairy tales from the original The Tales of Beedle the Bard. They will also include commentary and extensive footnotes by Professor Albus Percival Wulfric Brian Dumbledore, the wizard from the Harry Potter book series.
The collector's edition will be priced at USD100, and up to 100,000 copies will be printed.
Net proceeds from the sale of both the editions will be donated to the Children's High Level Group, a charity co-founded in 2005 by JK Rowling and Emma Nicholson MEP.
The Tales of Beedle the Bard will be released on 4 December 2008 and customers can pre-order the standard and collector's editions immediately online via any one of Amazon's worldwide websites.
