The demands for Linux system-built-in computers have been in the rise since this year, in the fields like education, government and emerging markets in particular, sources cited Lenovo as saying.
The China-grown up PC maker predicted that the Linux system-pre-loaded PCs would account for 5% of its total PC shipments in the following years.
The first batch of Lenovo's Linux-built-in laptops is expected to be available for purchase at the global market from the fourth quarter of 2007.
Thought without revealing the Linux laptops' pricing strategy and their language settings, Lenovo has said that the corporate buyers would be provided with security software, related procedures and regular software update services offered by Novell.
Before Lenovo, Dell has already announced its plan to promote Linux system-pre-loaded PCs three months ago.
