Bergren's tenure as president and chief executive officer will now continue through 31 January 2009. In addition he will serve in an important role, which is to be determined by the company's board of directors, from 1 February 2009 through 5 February 2010.
According to Tim Grumbacher, executive chairman of the board of directors, the board has been very pleased with Bergren's vision, leadership and execution since he joined Bon-Ton five years ago. As a result, the board has requested him to continue as president and chief executive officer.
