Meda earlier this week announced that it has agreed to acquire Valeant's European pharmaceuticals operations in a USD392m deal.
The new joint ventures, which will be majority-owned by Meda, will develop, market and commercialise certain current and future products for the Australian, Canadian and Mexican markets. The products will initially include Sublinox (treatment of insomnia) and flupertine (pain treatment).
Meda, headquartered in Solna, Sweden, focuses on marketing and market-adapted product development. The company has over 1,500 employees and its products are sold in some 120 markets worldwide.
One British pound (GBP) is worth approximately 1.98 US dollars (USD).
