Edison International adjusted 2Q EPS, revenue top forecasts

NEW YORK, Aug 08, 2008 (Thomson Financial via COMTEX) -- EIX | Quote | Chart | News | PowerRating -- Edison International Friday reported adjusted second-quarter earnings of $262 million, or 79 cents a share, while revenue rose to $3.38 billion.

The mean estimate of analysts polled by Thomson Reuters was for earnings of 75 cents a share and revenue of $3.25 billion.

In the year-ago period, the company reported adjusted earnings of $239 million, or 73 cents a share, on revenue of $3.05 billion.

Edison affirmed its 2008 adjusted earnings estimate of $3.61 to $4.01 a share. Wall Street is looking for $3.92 a share.
