Yingli Green Energy buys poly-silicon from Hoku Materials

BEIJING, Aug 11, 2008 (Xinhua via COMTEX) -- YGE | Quote | Chart | News | PowerRating -- Yingli Green Energy Holding Co., Ltd. (YGE.NYSE) has reportedly signed a 10-year agreement to buy poly- silicon from Hoku Materials Inc. for about 184 million euros.

Hoku Materials will provide poly-silicon to Yingli Green Energy starting from 2010.

Yingli Green Energy posted 289.7 million U.S. dollars of net revenues within the second quarter of 2008, increasing 24.69 percent from the first quarter this year and 119.3 percent from the same period of 2007, according to its latest performance announcement.

During the time, Yingli Green Energy realized 30.2 million U.S. dollars of net income, surging 40 percent from the previous quarter and 168 percent from the same period of 2007.
