Mindray Medical International Sets Date to Report Second Quarter Financial Results

SANTA BARBARA, Calif., Aug 11, 2008 (ASCRIBE NEWS via COMTEX) -- MR | Quote | Chart | News | PowerRating -- Mindray Medical International, a developer, manufacturer and marketer of medical devices worldwide announced that it will report its financial results for the second quarter ended June 30, after the U.S. market closes on September 3.

Mindray's management will hold an earnings conference call at 8 a.m. on September 4, U.S. Eastern Time (8 p.m. on September 4, Beijing/Hong Kong Time) to discuss results with investors.

As announced in May 2008, Mindray said it changed its reporting currency to the U.S. Dollar (USD) from Chinese Renminbi effective April 1. Accordingly, Mindray will present historical financial results retranslated into USD in order to allow same currency comparisons to future financial results, to be released in USD. Mindray noted it will release these historical financial results presented in USD on August 26. This retranslation does not reflect any change in the underlying historical results and reflects only exchange rate recalculation into USD based on the accounting guidance for retranslation into a new reporting currency.
