Lieberman was due to take up his post Aug. 11 as president and chief executive officer of Hartford Life Ltd. He will report to Peter Smyth, executive vice president for Hartford's international markets sector.
Lieberman succeeds Michael Kalen in the post. Hartford's new senior vice president for finance in the United States, Kalen is scheduled to stay in the Dublin office until Sept. 1.
Formerly chief executive for the ING Group's New Zealand office, Lieberman also has experience with Wachovia Corp., where he worked as senior director of the financial firm's capital markets and investment management group.
Lieberman is vice chairman and director of the Investment Savings and Insurance Institute of New Zealand.
Hartford Financial Services Group Inc. is a multiline insurer and financial services company with offices in the Americas, Europe and Japan.
