Aegean Marine Petroleum Q2 net income up

Aug 14, 2008 (Datamonitor via COMTEX) -- ANW | Quote | Chart | News | PowerRating -- Aegean Marine Petroleum Network, a marine fuel logistics company, has reported net income of $9.9 million or $0.23 basic and diluted earnings per share for the second quarter ended June 30, 2008, compared to net income of $7 million or $0.17 basic and diluted earnings per share for the second quarter ended June 30, 2007.

The company's total revenues for the second quarter of 2008 increased 162.2% to $741 million, compared to $282.6 million for the same period in 2007. Sales of marine petroleum products increased 161.7% to $738.6 million, compared to $282.2 million in the second quarter of 2007. Operating income for the second quarter of 2008 was $12.4 million, compared to $7.1 million for the same period in 2007.

For the six months ended June 30, 2008, the company has recorded net income of $17.4 million or $0.41 basic and diluted earnings per share, compared to net income of $13.6 million or $0.32 basic and diluted earnings per share in the same period of 2007. Total revenues for the first six months of 2008 increased 156.4% to $1.27 billion, compared to $496.4 million for the same period in 2007.

For the first six months of 2008, sales of marine petroleum products increased 156.9% to $1.27 billion, compared to $493.9 million for the same period in 2007. Operating income was $20.9 million, compared to $13.1 million in the first six months of 2007.
