NOTICE TEXT: Department of Health and Human Services Centers for Disease Control and Prevention PROCUREMENT AND GRANTS OFFICE (ATLANTA) The Center for Disease Control and Prevention (CDC) intends to award a purchase order to Ametek, 801 South Illinois Avenue, Oak Ridge, TN 37831-0895. The authority for this sole source is FAR Part 6.302-1 and FAR Part 13.106-1. The contractor shall provide maintenance service for the Gross Gamma Screening System-7 NAL detectors, PMT Base w/MCA & PC. Justification for other than full and open competition is because this instrumentation and the software associated are proprietary and no other manufacturer would have the schematics or the parts to repair the equipment. This is not a request for competitive proposals and no solicitation is available. Firms that believe they can provide these services/supplies are encouraged to identify themselves and give written notice to the Contract Specialist within 7 days of the publication date of this synopsis. A determination by the Government not to compete this proposed action will be based on responses to this notice and is solely within the discretion of the U.S. Government. Information received will be considered solely for the purpose of determining whether to conduct a competitive procurement.
