Hanover Insurance Group Inc appoints Gary Kusumi president of personal lines

PowerRating -- The Hanover Insurance Group Inc (NYSE: THG), an underwriter of personal
and commercial property and casualty insurance coverage, disclosed on
15 August that its personal lines business will be headed by Gary Y
Kusumi, who has been appointed president of that division.
The company's personal lines operations, including products, pricing,
service and underwriting strategies, besides growth and profitability,
will be under Kusumi's charge. He will work from Hanover's headquarters
in Worcester and also serve as a member of the company's executive
leadership team.
In his most recent post, Kusumi was employed at GMAC Insurance, a
Fortune 500 company, serving as president and chief executive officer
of the company's personal lines business.
Earlier, he was president and chief executive officer of the Windsor
Group and president of Leader National Group-personal lines companies
of Great American Insurance Group, in addition to serving in senior
management roles for the Progressive Companies in Cleveland, Ohio.
Having served on the safety advisory committee for the United States
Secretary of Transportation, Kusumi has also been a past chairman of
the Insurance Institute for Highway Safety.
