"It is gratifying for L&W's Seacoast Supply to achieve the highest award in this year's competition," said Brendan Deely, president and chief executive officer of L&W Supply. "We strive for excellence throughout our organization and it provides a real boost for everyone at L&W Supply to see that dedication to service and quality recognized. We look forward to helping David Weekley Homes become an even more successful builder in its many markets in future years."
Bill Justus, vice president of supply chain services for David Weekley Homes, explains the philosophy behind the survey. "Unlike some of our competitors who are trying to take links out of the supply chain, we recognize the importance of channel partners. Through the survey process we challenge our national trading partners to be competitively priced and aligned in providing seamless delivery of high quality products and services to David Weekley Homes."
David Weekley Homes started the survey in 2004 to recognize suppliers who are truly doing an outstanding job. All employees within the Weekley organization who interact with suppliers have a chance to vote, including everyone from the executive team to the accounts payable department. "With so many raters from all over David Weekley Homes rating our trading partners, it's impossible to maintain high ratings and not deliver on your promises," said Justus. "The National Trading Partner Survey is a practical way to measure world-class excellence. It goes beyond talk."
Another unique aspect of the survey is that suppliers who are evaluated are encouraged to call the Weekley Team Member who evaluated them and discuss their rating. "The National Trading Partner Survey creates a forum for open dialogue between us and our suppliers," Bill Justus said. "We believe when you get smart people together discussing opportunities, good things happen."
