Intersil stated that these devices consume less power (160nA at 1.8V supply current) than any competing three-lead voltage supervisors with a comparable supply voltage range. Their ultra-low current consumption makes them especially ideal for battery-powered and portable designs.
The ISL88001/2/3 family of devices also provides a tight voltage threshold accuracy of +/-1.2 percent for dependable reset assertion and precision monitoring of +1.8V or +5V power supplies. A 200ms Power-On Reset timeout function further prevents erroneous resets in the application. This combination of performance in a voltage supervisor helps designers to ensure that their system is reliably reset for increased robustness.
This extensive family of voltage supervisors offers designers a total of 54 potential product options. Among the choices available when selecting the ISL88001/2/3 is the ability to choose from nine of the industry's most widely-used factory-set voltage thresholds. This family of voltage supervisors also features three distinct reset output types: active low push-pull (ISL88001), active low open drain (ISL88002) and active high push-pull (ISL88003). Furthermore, designers can choose between small three-lead SC-70 and SOT-23 packages.
