Revenue rose 14% to $1.64 billion from $1.44 billion in the prior year, while same-store sales climbed 6%.
The mean estimate of analysts polled by Thomson Reuters was for earnings of 54 cents a share and revenue of $1.61 billion.
Ross forecast earnings of 42 cents to 44 cents a share for its third quarter, earnings of 78 cents to 81 cents a share for its fourth quarter, and earnings of $2.33 to $2.38 a share for the full year. Wall Street is looking for earnings of 43 cents a share for Ross's third quarter, 80 cents a share for the fourth quarter and $2.36 a share for the year.
