"We are grateful to companies like Mannatech that donate their time, money and resources to improve the lives of these deserving children," said Edward Shipman, founder of Happy Hill Farm. "Without the scholarships, a large number of the most at-risk children would not get the opportunity to turn their lives around and become productive citizens of the community. The need for our school increases with the explosive growth in North Texas."
The full sponsorship Mannatech is donating includes an educational component, the private, on-campus school for grades kindergarten through 12th grade, as well as any expenses and items needed to meet the requirements of at-risk children. In addition, it provides everything for the child from uniforms, clothing and room and board to food, vocational training and counseling.
"We are excited to sponsor a local child through this donation to Happy Hill Farm because of the school's creative and supportive program designed to change the lives of these children for the better," said Wayne Badovinus, president and CEO of Mannatech. "Happy Hill Farm is a great asset to our community and we look forward to continuing our support of this great cause."
Happy Hill Farm's mission is to serve children in crisis and to strengthen families. Socially and academically disadvantaged boys and girls - regardless of their religion, race, national origin or gender - are given the opportunity to live, work, and study in a year-round, residential school/farm setting. More than 100 children live at the farm and attend a fully-accredited (K-12) private academy.
