John Yearwood, 48, joins the Smith management team as Executive Vice President of Smith International, Inc. and President of Smith Completion and Production. John has responsibility for cased hole logging, coiled tubing, packers, liner hangers and artificial lift, as well as, several other operating units. John has been a member of Smith's Board of Directors for nearly two years, a capacity in which he will continue to serve. Prior to joining the Smith Board, John spent 26 years with Schlumberger, Ltd. His duties at Schlumberger included President of Dowell, President of North and South America, Oilfield Services and five years on the management committee of M-I SWACO, the Smith/Schlumberger joint venture. John received a Bachelors of Science Honors Degree in Geology and the Environment from Oxford Brookes University.
Bryan Dudman, 51, is appointed Executive Vice President of Smith International, Inc. and President of Smith Drilling and Evaluation. Bryan has responsibility for directional drilling, logging-while-drilling, rental tools, downhole tools and fishing tools and services. Bryan has been with Smith for 29 years, most recently as President of Smith Services. Bryan received his bachelor's degrees in engineering/business and management from Texas A&M Kingsville.
Margaret Dorman, 44, is promoted to Executive Vice President, Chief Financial Officer and Treasurer of Smith International, Inc. Margaret has been with Smith for 13 years and has served as Smith's CFO for the past nine years.
Mike Pearce, 60, will remain in charge of Smith Technologies and is promoted to Executive Vice President of Smith International, Inc. and President of Smith Technologies. Mike has been with Smith for 13 years and has been President of Smith Technologies for 3 years.
Mack Anderson, Senior Vice President of Human Resources; Richard Chandler, Senior Vice President, General Counsel & Secretary; Peter Pintar, Vice President Corporate Strategy and Development; Lee Turner, Senior Vice President of Quality, Health, Safety and Environment; John Kennedy, President and CEO of Wilson and Don McKenzie, President and CEO of M-I SWACO continue in their present positions.
All the above named people report directly to Doug Rock, Smith's Chairman and CEO.
This new management structure will accelerate Smith's growth in the Drilling and Evaluation, and Completion and Production segments of the oil service industry.
