Elektro-CAE-Software, which is based in Donzdorf southern Germany, has 327 employees and provides electrical computer-aided design software for the mechanical engineering, energy, and construction industries.
Autodesk said the acquisition will expand its electrical computer-aided design choices for controls designers in the European marketplace that rely on database-driven methods for their designs.
Robert Kross, senior vice president of Manufacturing Solutions at Autodesk, said: "The addition of ECS technologies enhances the Autodesk solution for digital prototyping and helps a larger audience to create complete digital prototypes that integrate both mechanical and electrical designs."
