The preview version of Autodesk Inventor software -- the foundation of the Autodesk solution for Digital Prototyping -- showcases new technology that simplifies the design of plastic products by allowing designers and engineers to automatically create thin-walled plastic parts and features such as grills, rests, bosses, snaps, lips, grooves and fillets.
"Plastics are one of the fastest-growing engineering materials, and Autodesk is committed to providing customers with scalable, attainable and cost effective Digital Prototyping solutions that help take their design productivity and innovation to new heights," said Robert "Buzz" Kross, senior VP of Autodesk Manufacturing Solutions. "We encourage anyone involved in plastic design -- not just current Inventor users -- to try Inventor Plastic Features and experience the benefits for themselves."
For a limited time the Inventor Plastic Features Technology Preview is available for free from Autodesk Labs, the company noted in a release.
