Under terms of the agreement with Northwestern Mutual, the two companies will form CSA Medical Partners LLC. The joint venture plans to acquire medical office buildings and other health care facilities that are primarily associated with not-for-profit health care systems and large doctor-owned clinics.
The joint venture expects to acquire up to $350 million of property nationwide.
Shares of Cogdell Spencer rose $1, or 5.6 percent, to close at $18.96 Friday.
