United Airlines to re-sign US Olympic sponsorship deal

Aug 26, 2008 (AIRLINE INDUSTRY INFORMATION via COMTEX) -- UAUA | Quote | Chart | News | PowerRating -- United Airlines (Nasdaq: UAUA | Quote | Chart | News | PowerRating) has announced its intention to renew its sponsorship agreement with the US Olympic Committee through to the London Games in 2012.

The new agreement will also cover the Paralympic Games and the 2010 Vancouver Winter Olympics. Under the agreement United will provide transport for individual sportsmen and women, coaches and administrators to training events and national and international competitions.

The US Olympic Committee has reportedly welcomed the renewed commitment from United and stated that national and international travel for the purpose of training and competition is essential to the development of the US Olympic athletes.
