New Embraer-190 for Aero Republica

Aug 27, 2008 (AIRLINE INDUSTRY INFORMATION via COMTEX) -- CPA | Quote | Chart | News | PowerRating -- Columbian airline Aero Republica, a subsidiary of Panama-based Copa Holdings SA (NYSE: CPA), announced on 26 August that it has taken delivery of an Embraer-190 direct from the Brazilian manufacturer.

The twin-engined, 106-seat regional jet is the eighth aircraft of this model to join the airline's fleet. Aero Republica also operates five MD-80s.

The aircraft will service the airline's domestic and international routes and will reportedly be used to expand route networks served by the alliance between Aero Republica and Panama's Copa Airlines.
