RSA Insurance surges on renewed bid talk -traders

LONDON, Aug 28, 2008 (Reuters via COMTEX) -- ZFSVF | Quote | Chart | News | PowerRating -- Shares in RSA Insurancer surged 5.4 percent by midday on Thursday as traders cited renewed market talk of bid interest from Zurich Financial Services .

RSA and Zurich Financial, whose shares were up 1.8 percent, were not immediately available for comment.

Another trader said RSA shares were also buoyed by comments from Swiss Life that it had not ruled out more acquisitions.

More than 14 million RSA shares changed hands by 1055 GMT, compared with a full-day average of 19.2 million in the past 30 days.
