These servers reportedly host Zoho's extensive suite of online software, including spreadsheets, wikis, CRM and project management applications.
The deployment by Rackable consisted of multiple 44U cabinets with DC-Powered servers running low-wattage Intel Quad Core processors, and is spread across multiple physical locations.
Zoho estimates that this configuration has saved them about 20% to 25% in power and cooling costs over the past 18 months. Rackable Systems architected the solution with AC to DC rectifiers inside the cabinets providing Zoho with new levels of reliability and redundancy.
Financial details of the deployment were not available.
