Plantronics uses Dolby technology for new gaming headset

Aug 29, 2008 (TELECOMWORLDWIRE via COMTEX) -- PLT | Quote | Chart | News | PowerRating -- Plantronics (NYSE:PLT), a provider of headphones, has announced the launch of the new GameCom 777 Surround Sound Gaming Headset, which features Dolby Headphone technology.

The headset will enable customers to play PC games, listen to music and watch films with virtual 5.1 surround sound.

Featured in the Plantronics headset are Dolby Headphone and Dolby Pro Logic II technologies in a plug-and-play sound card, which digitally processes sound for immersive audio.

The GameCom 777 Surround Sound Gaming Headset also features a 'hide-away' boom that can be tucked into the headband, turning the headset in a pair of headphones for music and multimedia use; a telescoping, noise-cancelling microphone providing accurate positioning for voice clarity; and in-line volume and microphone mute controls.

The suggested retail price of the Plantronics GameCom 777 Surround Sound Gaming Headset with Dolby technology is USD99.99.
