MainConcept announces release date of Reference 1.6 for Windows and DivX plug-in

Aug 29, 2008 (TELECOMWORLDWIRE via COMTEX) -- DIVX | Quote | Chart | News | PowerRating -- MainConcept GmbH, a subsidiary of DivX Inc (NASDAQ:DIVX) and provider of video and audio codecs and software development kits to the broadcast, film and consumer electronic markets, has announced the release date of the new version of MainConcept Reference 1.6 for Windows.

The video converter application now includes integrated DivX support and a dedicated software licensing plug-in. MainConcept has an existing portfolio of plug-ins for the formats H.264/AVC, MPEG-2, MPEG-4 Part 2, VC-1, DVCPRO and JPEG2000.

The DivX plug-in for MainConcept Reference enables users to easily encode video footage into DivX compliant streams.

MainConcept Reference 1.6 and the DivX plug-in will be available from 1 September 2008 for online purchase, while a free evaluation version with MainConcept codecs in demo mode is available for pre-purchase testing at http//www.mainconcept.com. Pricing details for the full product were not announced.
