Albemarle Corporation to hike ibuprofen prices

Aug 29, 2008 (M2 EQUITYBITES via COMTEX) -- ALB | Quote | Chart | News | PowerRating -- Albemarle Corporation (NYSE: ALB), a manufacturer of the anti-inflammatory agent ibuprofen, declared on 28 August that it will raise the prices for its ibuprofen products USD4.50 /kg worldwide, with effect from 1 October 2008, or as contracts allow. The price raise is applicable to Albemarle 40 and Albemarle 70 Ibuprofen grades (40- and 70-micron particle-size bulk products, respectively) as well as ALBE-TAB Ibuprofen products, which are direct compressible formulations optimized for tablet production.
