Wincanton to provide logistics services to Sara Lee in Poland

Sep 01, 2008 (Datamonitor via COMTEX) -- WNCC | Quote | Chart | News | PowerRating -- Wincanton, a provider of contract logistics and supply chain services, has signed a three-year contract for logistics services in Poland with Sara Lee, a global group of enterprises operating in the fast moving consumer goods sector.

As part of the contract, Wincanton will be responsible for providing comprehensive logistics solutions, including, among others: trans-shipment, storage, pick and pack, groupage and full-load forwarding services.

The contract provides for approximately 8,000 case movements per year. For the project, Wincanton will allot 2,100 pallet spaces in a high-bay warehouse located in Sady near Poznan, Poland.

Piotr Hupalo, supply chain director at Sara Lee, said: "We are convinced that we will enhance our competitive edge through the cooperation with Wincanton by maintaining a high quality of supply to the end customer in the times of growing logistics demands."
