Allstate Corporation increases resources to respond to Hurricane Gustav

PowerRating -- Allstate Corporation (NYSE:ALL), which operates in personal property
and casualty insurance business, as well as the life insurance,
retirement and investment products business, revealed on 31 August that
in order to prepare for the potentially devastating storm Hurricane
Gustav, approaching the Gulf Coast area, the company has increased the
number of resources positioned there in advance.
Fifteen Allstate Mobile Response Units with over 1,000 personnel have
been placed near the expected impact areas and more units equipped with
satellite phones, wireless data access, generators and bottled water
are on stand-by. They will help Allstate customers begin the claims
process from the affected areas, even if basic utilities such as power,
water and telecommunications are not available.

before, during and after a catastrophe, will be available with the
local Allstate agent, the catastrophe information centre at
