Yamaha Motor to manufacture motorcycles in Cambodia

Tokyo, Sep 03, 2008 (Asia Pulse Data Source via COMTEX) -- YAMHF | Quote | Chart | News | PowerRating -- ? Japan?s Yamaha Motor Co. will establish a motorcycle production plant in Cambodia jointly with Toyota Tsusho Corp and a Cambodian firm, with operations scheduled to start next July, local media reported.

Earlier on August 31, Yamaha and other companies launched a new company in Phnom Penh for the plant, the ?Japan Today? said, adding the new company will begin operations on October 1.

Yamaha will put up 70 percent of the starting capital of 11.5 million USD (1.2 billion yen) for the new company, Yamaha Motor Cambodia Co, and Toyota Tsusho will provide 20 percent.

The remaining 10 percent will be provided by Kong Nuon Import & Export Co, Yamaha said. ?
