Total sales for the 30 weeks ended August 30 increased 1% to $1.649 billion, compared to $1.627 billion for the thirty weeks ended September 1, 2007. Comparable stores sales decreased 7% for the year-to-date period compared to the same thirty week period last year.
The company maintained its third quarter EPS guidance of $0.31 to $0.36, compared to $0.45 per share last year.
