Heartland Express purchases terminal location in Dallas

Sep 04, 2008 (Datamonitor via COMTEX) -- HTLD | Quote | Chart | News | PowerRating -- Heartland Express, a short-to-medium haul truckload carrier, has purchased a terminal location in Dallas, Texas.

The office and shop facility is situated on approximately seven acres of land. An adjacent five-acre tract of land has also been acquired for future expansion.

The property renovations are expected to begin immediately with operations scheduled to begin in the fourth quarter of 2008. The Dallas terminal will be the company's 10th regional operating center.

Michael Gerdin, president of Heartland Express, said: "We are excited to be further expanding our service into the southwestern markets. This region has been on our growth horizons for some time. Regional operations have been a stronghold and growing footprint for Heartland Express for many years."
