Sep 05, 2008 (TELECOMWORLDWIRE via COMTEX) -- T | Quote | Chart | News | PowerRating -- AT&T Inc (NYSE: T | Quote | Chart | News | PowerRating) and the Philadelphia Mayor's Commission on Aging announced today (5 September) that AT&T will host an event called 'Cell Phones for Seniors' at Philadelphia's Senior Center in West Tioga Street to help the members master their mobile phones.

Participants at the event can bring their own phones regardless of the carrier they use, but AT&T will have free 'practice phones' on site to allow centre members to learn the basics of controlling the phones, such as controlling volume, voicemail, and how to store a number in the phone's address book.

Particpants will also be able to learn how to send text messages and share pictures on their phones. AT&T volunteers will provide hands-on demonstrations and one-on-one instructional support.

AT&T reportedly plans to expand the Cell Phones for Seniors programme to other areas of Pennsylvania in the coming months.
