"We've looked through our business volumes and pipeline, and so far, there's no bad news to announce -- the areas we are in are still showing strength," Chief Executive John Chen told Reuters in an interview on Monday on the sidelines of the Forbes Global CEO conference in Singapore.
"2008 would most likely be another record year for us and that's reflected in the guidance. Last year was a record in terms of revenue and earnings for us, and we will top that this year."
Nearly a third of Sybase's business comes from selling embedded software to telecommunications equipment companies such as Cisco, Ericsson and Nortel to build inside their own products.
The California-based firm has recently emerged as the world's largest independent provider of text message services between carriers.
It competes with companies such as Oracle Corp and SAP AG in data management and analytics, but is the leader in mobile messaging.
