Eighty-One Percent of FORTUNE Global 500 Companies Rely on Blue Coat for WAN Optimization and Secure Web Gateway

SUNNYVALE, Calif., Sep 08, 2008 (BUSINESS WIRE) -- BCSI | Quote | Chart | News | PowerRating -- Blue Coat Systems, Inc. (Nasdaq:BCSI), the leader in WAN Application Delivery and Secure Web Gateway, today announced that 81 percent of FORTUNE Global 500 companies are securing and accelerating their Internet connections and Wide Area Networks (WAN) with Blue Coat(R) ProxySG(R) appliances, according to the 2008 ranking by FORTUNE. In the U.S., 67 percent of Fortune 500 companies rely on Blue Coat appliances.

Based on the latest FORTUNE Global 500 and FORTUNE 500 lists, Blue Coat customers include the following:

-- 81 percent of the Fortune Global 500

-- 96 of the 100 largest companies in the world

-- 67 percent of the Fortune 500

-- The 10 largest companies in the U.S.

-- 49 of the 50 largest companies in the U.S.
