India's Sun Pharma gets US FDA approval for generic of Merck's Fosamax

MUMBAI, Sep 12, 2008 (Thomson Financial via COMTEX) -- MRK | Quote | Chart | News | PowerRating -- India's Sun Pharma Ltd. said it has won final approval from the U.S. Food & Drug Administration (FDA) for its generic version of Merck & Co Inc.'s osteoporosis drug Fosamax.

In a statement, Sun Pharma added that Fosamax had annual sales of around $560 million in the United States.
