Sonic Solutions launches Scenarist BD Studio Workgroup

Sep 15, 2008 (M2 EQUITYBITES via COMTEX) -- SNIC | Quote | Chart | News | PowerRating -- Sonic Solutions (Nasdaq: SNIC | Quote | Chart | News | PowerRating) (http://www.sonic.com), a developer and marketer of computer software related to digital media, announced the launch on 12 September of its Scenarist BD Studio Workgroup, a cost-effective title production suite based on Sonic's ultra high-end professional Blu-ray Disc (BD) creation solutions. Scenarist BD Studio Workgroup features two new programmes, Scenarist BD Studio for authoring and CineVision Studio for encoding which are aimed at the needs of professionals in the video post, independent film and corporate video production industries. Scenarist BD Studio Workgroup makes HD title creation available to a range of post facilities and specialised content owners. The products will be available separately or as part of the Scenarist BD Studio Workgroup. Based on the same engines as Sonic's other products, Scenarist BD Studio and CineVision Studio offer power, customised to the needs of independent facilities. Scenarist BD Studio is priced lower and provides a professional BD title production solution that includes detailed control of interactivity and playback compatibility. The support provided by CineVision Studio for BD encoding modes (AVC, VC-1 and MPEG-2) includes Digital Vision's DVO Brickwall low-pass filtering plug-in as a standard feature and the optional ability to incorporate additional DVO plug-ins. Owners of either component of the Scenarist BD Studio Workgroup can select Sonic's SonicCare training and support services.
