CPI, a subsidiary of CPI International, is a provider of microwave, radio frequency, power and control solutions for critical defense, communications, medical, scientific and other applications.
CPI is showcasing its new outdoor-mount 200 watt Ku-band amplifier, as well as a rack-mount 1.25 kilowatt SuperLinear Traveling Wave Tube Amplifier (TWTA). Both will be on display at CPI's exhibition stand.
CPI stated that some of the key attributes of these new products are:
-- The new 200W Ku-band outdoor amplifier is at least 24 percent more efficient than any TWTA in its class. It consumes at least 20 percent less power and is lighter and smaller than other 200 watt TWTAs. It is also more than twice as efficient as comparable solid state power amplifiers (SSPAs) when operating at linear power.
-- Leveraging CPI's design for C-band and X-band SuperLinear TWTAs, the highly efficient 1.25 kilowatt Ku-band SuperLinear TWTA offers 500 watts of linear output power at the flange when the integral linearizer is included - a power level previously only achieved with broadband amplifiers by utilizing complicated and expensive power-combining solutions. As with CPI's X-band and C-band SuperLinear TWTAs, this Ku-band amplifier uses far less prime power than traditional solutions, resulting in a more compact design and lower utility costs for the user.
-- These new Ku-band amplifiers are both based on field-proven designs.
