John R. (J) Pegues Named Chief Executive Officer of Coventry Health Care of Louisiana, Inc.

NEW ORLEANS, Sep 17, 2008 (BUSINESS WIRE) -- CVH | Quote | Chart | News | PowerRating -- Coventry Health Care, Inc. today announced the appointment of John R. (J) Pegues as chief executive officer of Coventry Health Care of Louisiana, Inc. The Louisiana health care plan serves approximately 54,000 members throughout the state who are enrolled in risk-based and self-funded employer group health plans, as well as individual policies. As chief executive officer of the health plan, Pegues will oversee all day-to-day operations for the New Orleans-based subsidiary.

"J brings considerable experience and leadership skills to Coventry and the Louisiana business community," said Hassan Rifaat, senior vice president of Coventry Health Care. "His energy and customer-driven results will strengthen Coventry's presence in the Louisiana market."
