The company said that the new Voyager 835 offers Plantronics Dual-Mic AudioIQ, a combination of its proprietary DSP algorithm which optimises audio levels and fidelity on both sides of a conversation, with precisely configured dual microphones to significantly reduce background noise. The inclusion of dual-microphones allows the headset to isolate voice signals - one microphone captures voice, while the second microphone identifies background noise and removes it.
Combined with the company's WindSmart technology, which filters and reduces wind distortion, the headset delivers noise-cancellation benefits without over-processing audio, so voices sound natural during conversations, Plantronics said.
The new product reportedly weighs less than 12g and meets the company's acoustic fit criteria with contoured, universal-fit eartips that channel sound directly into the ear canal for improved receive clarity. A slim ear loop secures the headset without discomfort and does not interfere with eyewear. In addition, the Voyager 835 features multipoint technology, which enables users to take calls from any two Bluetooth phones from a single headset.
The Plantronics Voyager 835 Bluetooth Headset will be available in October 2008, priced at USD119.95.
