LUKoil head buys up company shares

PowerRating -- President of LUKoil Vagit Alekperov has acquired 200,000 company shares for RUB 305,107,665 (approx. USD 11.697m), the oil company said in a statement today. The total amount was split into two tranches, with 100,000 shares purchased on September 15, and another 100,000 shares on September 16. The move increased Alekperov's total interest in the company from 20.58 percent to 20.6 percent.
In addition, LUKoil press office revealed today that group companies were also buying up company shares on the market. As of today, they have bough back some 1.4m common shares, or 0.165 percent of the share capital.
Earlier, LUKoil's managers passed a decision to buy back company shares to support the company in the face of a financial crisis.
