This announcement follows the agreement announced last year to extend the DE-CIX peering infrastructure into the Equinix Frankfurt-2 (FR2) Internet Business Exchange (IBX ) datacentre located in the northern part of Frankfurt. The service enables CDNetworks, and other DE-CIX customers to access Equinix's premium colocation services. Similarly, Equinix customers joining DE-CIX can directly exchange traffic, or "peer," with the extensive DE-CIX customer base of over 260 companies, increasing reliability, improving performance, and reducing the costs of network traffic exchange.
